What to Know About Baby’s First Tooth

Most infants develop their first teeth between the ages of six to twelve months. While that time may be filled with more tears and sleepless nights than usual, what’s going on in your child’s mouth is actually quite amazing. Here are a few things you should know about teething.

1. Don’t worry-teething has an end date. In fact, your child should have all of their baby teeth in by age three.

2. Did you know that baby teeth help your child speak properly as they’re learning to talk? Without baby teeth, their eventual words would be quite hard to understand.

3. Your baby’s tiny teeth act as a placeholder for their eventual adult teeth to erupt.

4. Unfortunately, baby teeth are susceptible to decay just like adult teeth. Be sure to book an appointment with us as soon as their first tooth erupts.
